Many of our team members have used this role as a springboard to advance their careers within Star Lumber, growing into leadership and specialized positions.The Material Handler is Responsible for: Pull, stage and load building material products, may include but not limited to (lumber, cabinets, windows, doors, decking, siding)Safely load and unload materials on a variety of truck typed including semi, box trucks and flat bedsAssist customers with loading materialsOperate forklifts and other material handling equipment safely and efficientlyAdhere to all safety procedures and personal protection equipment (PPE) requirementsWork outdoors in various weather conditions while staying adaptable and preparedRequirements Permanent authorization to work in the United States18 Years or olderPhysical capability to lift 50 lbs. repetitively and up to 100 lbs. in a team liftCommitment to safety and teamworkAvailability to work during operating hours, Overtime as neededPreferred Experience Knowledge of lumber and building materialsForklift operation experienceFamiliarity with (WMS) Warehouse Management SystemsExperience working in a warehouse or distribution centerWarehouse management technologyWhy Choose Star?
