The Scalehouse Attendant serves as the primary point of contact for customers bringing waste to a disposal facility. This position uses computer systems to record transactions, calculate and collect payments, verify incoming loads, and maintain accurate records while ensuring customers follow facility safety procedures.

The Scalehouse Attendant serves as the primary point of contact for customers bringing waste to a disposal facility. Responsibilities:
- Greet customers, direct traffic, and provide courteous, accurate information.
- Use computer systems to enter customer, load, and transaction information.
- Calculate charges, process payments, and handle monetary transactions accurately.
- Inspect incoming waste loads for prohibited or unsafe materials.
- Monitor customer and employee compliance with facility safety rules and required personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Complete data entry, filing, reports, and other administrative tasks.
- Maintain a clean and organized scalehouse.
- Resolve routine customer concerns and communicate issues requiring additional assistance to the supervisor.
- Follow established procedures and attend required training or meetings.
- Work overtime as needed and perform other assigned duties.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Computer experience is required, including accurate data entry and keyboarding.
- Cash handling or other monetary transaction experience is required.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Problem-solving skills and the ability to address customer concerns professionally.
- Attention to detail when processing payments, entering information, and maintaining records.
- Ability to follow safety procedures and work independently.
- Ability to occasionally handle objects weighing less than 30 pounds.
Work Environment:
Work is primarily performed in a scalehouse at a waste disposal facility. The role may involve exposure to dirt, odors, noise, varying weather conditions, and occasional occupational hazards. Overtime may be required based on operational needs.

Schedule:
- 1st Shift | 8:00 am – 4:30 pm | Flexible to open at 5:00 pm
Compensation:
- $17.00 per hour
