This position is responsible for providing administrative support to METRA?Transit System Department. Maintains files, calendars, statistical reports, and other documents.
Performs data entry, answers multi-line telephone and directs calls.
Prepares correspondence, spreadsheets and presentations.
Assists in scheduling Dial-A-Ride trips, meetings and appointments.
Responds to internal and external customer concerns. Receives and processes department mail.
Prepares reports and presentations as needed.
Maintains confidential files for the department.
Conducts parts room inventory, completes mileage reports and closes out maintenance work orders.
Carries out a continuous effort to improve operations, work processes.
Works cooperatively to provide continuous improvement and customer-driven service.
Performs other related duties as assigned.

Knowledge and level of competency commonly associated with the completion of specialized training in the occupational field, in addition to basic skills typically associated with a high school education. Sufficient experience to understand the basic principles relevant to the major duties of the position, usually associated with the completion of an apprenticeship/internship or having had a similar position for one to two years. Must obtain the required license to operate a city support vehicle.
The work is typically performed while intermittently sitting, standing, stooping, walking, bending, or crouching. The employee occasionally lifts light objects and must distinguish between shades of color. Additionally, the following physical abilities are required:
