Federal Work-Study Student

The Department of History, Geography, and Philosophy at Columbus State University is currently seeking a Federal Work-Study student to work in an academic office. The position offers approximately 15 to 19 flexible hours per week during regular business hours and is designed to accommodate the student's academic schedule. This is an on-site position; remote work and weekend hours are not available.

The primary responsibilities would be occasionally answering the phone, helping visitors, mail distribution, signing for incoming packages, photocopying and scanning, creating & posting flyers, stocking ordered supplies, setup of Coffee with Colleagues or assisting faculty or staff on other general tasks.

This position is open exclusively to students who have been awarded Federal Work Study (FWS). Office related work experience helpful but not required, interpersonal and communication skills, computer skills (Excel, Word, email communication), ability to carry out tasks in a timely manner with minimal corrections, reliable and be able to balance academics and extra-curricular with work schedule; and maintain student/faculty/staff confidentiality. Light lifting when setting up for once-a-month student convocation coffee with colleagues.

Proposed Salary: $7.84/hr.
