Engine InspectorAt Pratt & Whitney's Columbus Engine Center quality is mission-critical—and as an Engine Inspector, you are the final line of defense in ensuring every engine meets the highest standards of safety, performance, and reliability. In this role, you'll perform detailed inspections throughout the engine overhaul and assembly process, verifying that all work complies with technical data, regulatory requirements, and internal quality standards.This is a 1st Shift position: Monday – Thursday 5:00 am – 3:30 pmReceiving Personnel Conducts Receiving Inspections (RX) of materials received.RX inspectors may unload trucks shipment arrives at shipping dock in boxes, crates, bins etc.Parts are identified by Purchase Order (PO) and barcode system and stored in a designated location in RX.The RX Inspector receives part by verifying part is the correctly listed on shipping documents; verifying identifying numbers (part and serial), completing visual inspection.RX Inspector uses computers to access programs such as SAP, Microsoft Outlook, and other program in the Pratt and Whitney network.Communicates in writing/verbally concerns with supplier conformance.RX Inspector observes the condition of received hardware and documents their technical observations on paper. Must establish professional rapport with customers, vendors and quality engineers.Responsibilities:Perform visual inspection of purchased parts and materialsVerify part, serial numbers, part numbers, and deviations, check for obvious damage/defectsComplete inspection records, logs, and rejection reportsCommunicates in writing and verbally on concerns with supplier conformance.Unload parts from courier truck at loading dock, ability to obtain PIV license.Complete invoice and packing slips to ensure customer paymentObtain RX inspection stamp within 3 months in roleQualifications You Must Have:High School Diploma or GED1+ years of experience in a mechanical, manufacturing, maintenance, quality, inspection, aviation, military, or other technical environment.Qualifications We Prefer:Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) License or Powerplant (P) Certificate.Experience within engine overhaul, inspection or repairProficiency using precision measuring toolsStrong ability to identify and resolve configuration and compatibility issues.Familiarity with continuous improvement methodologies such as Lean Six Sigma or RTX's CORE Operating System.Experience using Microsoft Office applications and SAPBasic knowledge and proficiency of inspection methodsDemonstrate commitment to the business support functions EH&S, HR, CORE, ITC, Quality, etcAbility to effectively communicate (written and oral) and work in a team environment.Occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.This position is classified as:Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite.
