Executive Director Of Elementary Education

The job of the Executive Director of Elementary Education is done for the purpose of providing strategic leadership and instructional direction for all elementary schools and oversight of state standards-aligned elementary instructional programs; ensuring the effective implementation of the district's vision, strategic plan, curriculum, instructional practices, and accountability systems; supporting principals in improving teaching and learning; fostering positive academic outcomes for all students; coordinating district-wide elementary initiatives; and ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal requirements related to elementary education.

Requirements:

• Educational Level: Master's degree required in job-related area.
• Certifications/Licenses: GA Certification in Education Leadership required; Valid Driver's License
• Experience: Job related and leadership experience within a specialized field with increasing levels of responsibility is required.
• Equivalency: Three (3) or more years of experience as a principal is required. Prior experience with elementary curriculum implementation, school transformation, federal grant management, and district administrative experience is preferred.

• Skills, Knowledge and Abilities: Skills are required to perform multiple, technical tasks with a need to periodically upgrade skills in order to meet changing job conditions. Essential duties:

• Provides leadership, supervision, and support to elementary school principals and other assigned personnel for the purpose of ensuring effective school operations, instructional leadership, and continuous school improvement.
• Monitors and evaluates elementary school performance data, including student achievement, attendance, discipline, and other key indicators, for the purpose of identifying trends, determining needs, and guiding improvement efforts.
• Leads the development and implementation of state and district curriculum, instructional frameworks, and assessment practices across elementary schools for the purpose of ensuring alignment with state standards and district priorities.
• Ensures the selection of high-quality instructional materials for core and supplemental curriculum resources.
• Oversees and supports assigned programs and departmental responsibilities for the purpose of achieving strategic and organizational objectives.
• Collaborates with district departments to coordinate instructional programs, student services, professional development, and operational support for the purpose of ensuring cohesive and effective services for elementary schools.
• Contributes to the development, implementation, review and revision of the district strategic plan for the purpose of continuous improvement.
• Supports principals in developing, implementing, monitoring, and evaluating school improvement plans for the purpose of increasing student achievement and organizational effectiveness.
• Reviews and analyzes school and district data with principals and leadership teams for the purpose of establishing goals, measuring progress, and identifying corrective actions when needed.
• Facilitates professional development and leadership development opportunities for elementary administrators for the purpose of strengthening instructional leadership capacity and improving student outcomes.
• Oversees the implementation of district initiatives and strategic priorities within elementary schools for the purpose of ensuring consistency, fidelity, and successful execution.
• Conducts school visits, classroom observations, and leadership meetings for the purpose of monitoring instructional quality, providing feedback, and supporting continuous improvement.
• Develops, communicates, and monitors expectations for instructional excellence, school culture, and operational effectiveness for the purpose of promoting high-performing learning environments.
• Collaborates with curriculum and instructional leaders to align academic programs, interventions, and enrichment opportunities for the purpose of ensuring access and academic success for all students.
• Supports the implementation of Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS), intervention programs, and student support initiatives for the purpose of addressing academic needs.
• Assists in budget development, resource allocation, and fiscal oversight for elementary programs for the purpose of maximizing organizational effectiveness and supporting district priorities.
• Investigates, responds to, and resolves complex school and community instructional concerns for the purpose of maintaining positive stakeholder relationships and supporting effective school operations.
• Oversees school-based Academic Coaches by providing guidance, feedback, and support related to school improvement processes, instructional planning, classroom pedagogy and data analysis/monitoring for the purpose of improving student achievement.
• Ensures the implementation of Structured Literacy and the Science of Reading across all elementary schools for the purpose of improving student literacy.
• Develops and implements a departmental budget based on prioritized needs and district initiatives for the purpose of ensuring allocations are accurate, expenses are within budget limits and fiscal practices are followed.
• Oversees the coordination of elementary academic competitions and events for the purpose of enriching student learning.
• Monitors school master scheduling and reviews course requests for the purpose of ensuring adequate instructional time and focus.
• Acts as a liaison between the Georgia Department of Education, the Chattahoochee-Flint Regional Educational Service Agency, the district and/or the state identified schools (K-12) for the purpose of successfully implementing and maintaining programs that support the schools.
• Leads district stakeholders in the completion of the District Comprehensive Needs Assessment (CNA) and the annual development of the Comprehensive LEA Improvement Plan (CLIP) for the purpose of continuous improvement.
• Organizes the implementation of K-12 live meetings (Fall and Winter) for the purpose of progress monitoring school improvement plans and student achievement.
• Ensures compliance with applicable laws, policies, regulations, and district procedures for the purpose of maintaining accountability and reducing organizational risk.
• Represents the district at meetings, conferences, community events, and professional organizations for the purpose of advocating for district priorities and fostering productive partnerships.
• Provides recommendations to the Chief Academic Officer or Superintendent regarding policies, programs, and organizational improvements for the purpose of enhancing educational effectiveness and student achievement.
• Daily attendance and punctuality are required for the purpose of ensuring the goals of the work unit can be met
• Performs other related duties, as assigned, for the purpose of ensuring the efficient, effective functioning of the work unit.
