Position Goal

Schedules diagnostic tests/surgeries in a timely manner, calls for referrals, and ensures that patients have the necessary information and orders prior to scheduled test.

Position Responsibilities

• Schedule diagnostic tests and surgeries as needed.
• Process outgoing referrals.
• Ensure patients have the necessary test/surgery appointment information to include location, date, and time.
• Schedule follow up appointments.
• Collaborate with the necessary departments when an urgent request arises, to include assisting with pre-certification (when needed)
• Route charts and films for tests and surgeries per the physician's protocol
• Obtain authorizations for surgeries and in-office procedures.
• Coordinate and schedule incoming referrals per physicians' appointment protocol.

Position Requirements

Experience: One year of experience in medical office setting required. Knowledge of medical insurance, medical terminology, and computer skills.

Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required.

Special Qualifications:

• Must be able to work independently and have working knowledge of HIPAA.
• Must be able to effectively multi task.
• Must be able to demonstrate effective communication during performance of daily duties.
