As a Driver you will operate a 1 ½ ton truck. The Driver is responsible for providing a welcome greeting for all donors. DMV and company guidelines must always be observed. Time management is crucial for arriving at the destination and returning on schedule. The Driver exhibits customer commitment, and personal effectiveness, and plays a key role in our mission.Goodwill Industries of the Southern Rivers -Veterans, GAResponsibilitiesMaintains vehicle logs and daily trip sheets according to all company procedures.Reports any mechanical problems, delays, accidents, and/or other traffic and transportation situations to leadership team.Loads and unloads trucks, vehicles, containers, and trailers by hand or with the use of a hand truck, lift gate, and/or pallet jack during pick-up and drop-offs.Conducts daily preventative maintenance checks, before, during and after operations, and adheres to all safety regulations.Cleans the inside of the assigned vehicle daily, and the outside, as needed.Reports concerns to the leadership team immediately.Pads, stacks, and secures items in position on the truck to prevent damage during transit.Works other areas of the store as requested by the leadership team.You will be hired as a Driver, however, you will be cross-trained and expected to learn and work in all areas of the retail operation.A Part-time position averages 38-40 hours per week. Hours will fluctuate based on business needs (i.e., seasonal changes, donation volumes, etc.) Operating days will fluctuate based on the store location.
