This is a remote role that may only be hired in: GA

User Interface Designers III at First Citizens Bank collaborate with designers, product owners, product managers, developers, and business stakeholders to create strong design solutions for digital products, services, and channels. Have gained the knowledge and understanding of a specific UI area of expertise to become a team specialist. Provides expert consultation on the creation of digital experiences that align to client expectations, needs, and ease of access. Creates designs and conducts user research (including usability testing). Possesses knowledge and understanding of our Design Language System. User Interface Designer III's are responsible for offering solutions and think creatively about different approaches to expand their skills.

Responsibilities

  • User Interface Design - Responsible for supporting the enhancement of the Bank's digital user experience by creating and iterating high-fidelity User Interface prototypes, visual designs, and digital design assets. Ensures that digital products, services, and channels deliver an efficient, easy-to-use, accessible experience for clients. Leveraging the Design Language System to ensure a consistent brand and approach. Can operate independently once briefed and provided with high-level guidance and necessary resources.
  • User Research - Ensures the success of digital products, service, or channel enhancements by testing new designs prior to implementation. Writes and executes test briefs for design research. Uncovers critical information on user engagement and acceptance through testing activities.
  • Business Support - Provides support in the area of expertise for digital products, channels, and corporate initiatives through a variety of technical and operational duties.
  • Collaboration - Works closely with design team, project teams and other stakeholders in the design and enhancement of interactive experiences throughout the Bank. Participates in practice of critiques and reviews; receiving and giving honest feedback that helps elevate the designed experiences.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree and 4 years of experience in User Interface Design OR High School Diploma or GED and 8 years of experience in User Interface Design

Preferred Education: Bachelor's Degree

Preferred Area of Study: User Interface Design, Graphic Design, Front-End Development

Preferred Area of Experience: Financial Services Industry

Preferred Skills:

  • Digital Design skills including web design, motion, graphic design, and experience with related tools (Adobe illustrator, photoshop, sketch, Figma)
  • Understanding of design patterns and visual design language systems
  • Understanding of the internet, web application development, and system design
  • Familiarity with Content management systems (e.g., Adobe Experience Manager, Contentful)
  • Understanding of Modern Front-end development practices; HTML, CSS, JavaScript, sematic markup, WCAG AA standards, Responsive Web Design
  • Understanding of how research and analytics data can help guide design decisions
  • Current contractor/contingent worker for First Citizens Bank
