This position assists with the work of a survey crew. Operates survey equipment in the collection of field data. Uses plumb to attain accurate line of site; uses level rod to run elevations for roads, bridges, and poles. Flags traffic around work sites. Sets up survey flags; assists in the operation of GPS equipment. Assists with the care and maintenance of survey equipment and vehicle. Operates bush hook for line clearing. Performs other related duties as assigned. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Knowledge of the principles and practices of land surveying. Knowledge of applicable local, state, and federal laws, rules, and regulations. Skill in problem solving and decision making. Skill in reading maps, blueprints, and other reference tables. Skill in the specialized tools and instruments used in drafting and surveying. Skill in oral and written communication. Ability to read, write, and perform mathematical calculations.
