KENNEL TECHNICIAN
CLASSIFICATION TITLE: ANIMAL CONTROL KENNEL TECHNICIAN
PURPOSE OF CLASSIFICATION
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out complex instructions furnished in written or oral form. Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
The following duties are normal for this position. The omission of specific statements of the duties does not exclude them from the classification if the work is similar, related, or a logical assignment for this classification. Other duties may be required and assigned. Assist with animal intake, evaluation, and treatment. Clean and maintain the exercise yard and dog park. Sweep, mop and disinfect floors on a daily basis; deep clean shelter including tops and bottoms of cages, intake and isolation areas on a regular basis. Operate laundry equipment, fold laundry and wash dishes. Monitor animals and immediately report health or behavior abnormalities to the Animal Care Manager. Create and maintain necessary animal records, perform data entry into Shelter Buddy. Able and willing to work holidays and weekends.
ADDITONAL FUNCTIONS
Performs other related duties as required.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
High School Diploma or equivalent. Knowledge of basic animal care.

Physical Ability: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to climb or balance. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
Sensory Requirements: Some tasks require the ability to perceive and discriminate colors or shades of colors, sounds, odor, depth, texture, and visual cues or signals.
Environmental Factors: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts and outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to excessive. Both indoor and outdoor work is required.
