Adjunct Instructor For Math

Columbus Technical College is seeking an individual to serve as an adjunct instructor for math. Under general supervision, this individual will prepare lesson plans for classroom instruction; evaluate students' progress in attaining goals, objectives, and student learning outcomes; academically advise students; attend faculty development training, workshops, seminars, and conferences as needed. Further requirements include assisting with recruitment, retention, job placement efforts, and sustaining a credible advisory board for the program. This position is on campus and requires day and evening instruction. This position is part-time/exempt.

This position may be required to teach high school students, may require occasional weekends, may require teaching on or off campus throughout our service delivery area (Muscogee County, Stewart County, Quitman County, Chattahoochee County, Harris County, and Talbot County), and may require travel.

Responsibilities include organizing and conducting classes using a variety of learning experiences and activities, ensuring adherence to technical college safety requirements in classrooms, evaluating students' progress in attaining goals and objectives, following state standards in developing course outlines, goals, and objectives, ensuring consistency in syllabi, lesson plans, tests, and other appropriate course work, accepting direction and feedback from supervisor and following through appropriately, demonstrating a positive attitude toward students, demonstrating current and comprehensive knowledge of the subject areas to be taught, communicating students' progress to students and appropriate personnel and according to established guidelines, accurately recording pertinent information in students' records as required, preparing and maintaining all required documentation and administrative reports and submitting in a timely manner, showing flexibility in response to process change and adapting to and accommodating new methods and procedures, working when scheduled; beginning and ending work as expected; calling in according to policy when arriving late for when or when absent; using work time appropriately, maintaining knowledge of current trends and developments in the field by attending staff development training, workshops, seminars and conferences and by reading professional literature, effective written and oral communication, general computer knowledge (Microsoft Office Products), and performing other duties as assigned in the fulfillment of the needs, philosophy, and purpose of Columbus Technical College.

Minimum qualifications include a Master's Degree from a regionally accredited college or university in Mathematics or a Master's Degree from a regionally accredited college or university with a concentration a minimum of 18 graduate semester hours or 27 graduate quarter hours in Mathematics.

Preferred qualifications include experience with instruction in a postsecondary setting and experience with learning management systems, and experience with analyzing student learning outcomes and course data.

Salary is commensurate with education and experience. Application deadline position is available until it is filled.
