Job Details

Supervises and observes inmate activities; maintains security of inmates and the general public; completes regular inmate attendance count. Searches inmates, equipment, and van to remove contraband. Administers medications and first aid to inmates; responds to inmate requests for other medical attention. Transports inmates to and from assignments. Ensures inmate compliance with state and departmental policies and procedures. Maintains daily reports of all accidents, incidents, and activities. Receives and releases inmates transferred to and from the correctional facility; completes required paperwork. Supervises the routine cleaning and maintenance of tools and van. Performs other related duties as assigned. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Knowledge of modern corrections practices and procedures. Knowledge of Department of Corrections guidelines and federal and state laws pertaining to the incarceration of persons. Knowledge of first aid and CPR techniques.
