Job Details

This position performs street maintenance and repair duties. Loads tools and equipment onto the truck; fills and loads water cooler. Assists in the repair of cave-ins on pipes and storm drains; excavates cave-ins; mixes cement; builds collars; backfills excavation site. Assists in laying pipe and in building manholes and boxes; wipes pipes to prevent leaks; mixes cement; assists in the laying of bricks. Drives flatbed truck as authorized. Flags traffic as necessary. Performs other related duties as assigned. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Knowledge of the principles, practices, and techniques utilized in the installation, maintenance, and repair of the stormwater system. Knowledge of the tools used in the installation, maintenance, and repair of the stormwater system. Skill in problem-solving and decision-making. Skill in the use of hand tools such as shovels, rakes, and sledgehammers. Skill in oral and written communication.
