Job Summary:

Detail-oriented CMM Programmer with hands-on experience in aerospace manufacturing, specializing in precision inspection and metrology using CMM systems and Calypso software. Proven ability to develop and optimize inspection programs for complex components, ensuring compliance with tight tolerances, GD&T requirements, and aerospace quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, create, and optimize CMM programs using Calypso for inspection of complex aerospace components, ensuring accuracy and repeatability.
  • Interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, and specifications to establish inspection methods and validate dimensional requirements.
  • Perform first article inspections (FAI), in-process, and final inspections using CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machines)
  • Analyze inspection data and generate detailed reports, ensuring compliance with aerospace quality standards (AS9100).
  • Collaborate with manufacturing, quality, and engineering teams to resolve dimensional issues and improve process capability.
  • Troubleshoot and refine existing CMM programs to enhance efficiency and reduce inspection cycle time.
  • Support root cause analysis for non-conformances and implement corrective actions related to dimensional discrepancies.
  • Maintain calibration and ensure proper functioning of CMM equipment and inspection tools.

Required Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience as a CMM Programmer in aerospace or precision manufacturing.
  • Strong proficiency in Calypso software (Zeiss CMM preferred).
  • Hands-on experience with CMM operation and programming
  • Solid understanding of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) and blueprint reading.
  • Experience with inspection of complex machined components (turbine, engine, or aerospace parts preferred).
  • Knowledge of quality standards such as AS9100 and First Article Inspection (FAI – AS9102).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working with aerospace OEMs.
  • Knowledge of machining processes (CNC milling, turning) and their impact on dimensional variation.
  • Familiarity with statistical analysis tools and process capability (SPC, Cpk/Ppk).
  • Certification in metrology or quality (ASQ, GD&T certification is a plus).
