Work Schedule: Standard M-F remotely from home after 3 month training period onsite in Meadville

During training: work from home 1 week, onsite for 3 weeks
Post training: Remote position with 20% travel. 3 weeks remote, 1 week onsite at customer or in Meadville.
About the Opportunity
Acara is helping our furnace manufacturing client find a Project Engineer - Aluminum Melting to join their organization as a salaried direct employee. The are pursuing candidates from the aluminum furnace or similar Al melting industry.
What Youll Do
Review each project scope of work to identify milestones, ensure documentation completeness, and confirm compliance with regulations
Review customer utility and facility drawings to ensure preparation for furnace installation/rebuild
Perform design, testing, and analysis of aluminum melting and industrial heat-treating equipment
Conduct thermal, structural, and performance calculations using engineering principles
Originate layouts, concepts, and designs for new furnaces and modifications to existing equipment
Maintain project budgets and manage expenditures
Identify and manage change orders in coordination with Sales
Travel domestically and internationally as required (up to 20%)
Serve as the technical expert for aluminum melting furnaces
Develop and maintain a deep understanding of customer challenges, applications, and needs within aluminum melting
Provide technical input to ensure that products meet performance, reliability, and efficiency standards
Support proposals by developing specifications, estimates, and accurate technical documentation
Assist with competitor analysis to strengthen companys value proposition
Provide technical guidance during negotiations, installation, and commissioningCommunicate directly with customers to ensure a positive project experience through clear, professional communication
Partner with Sales, Product Management, and Field Service to ensure successful execution
Provide support in presentations, seminars, and trade shows as needed to promote aluminum melting expertise
Contribute to market share growth by identifying opportunities for process improvement and strategic enhancements
Required Skills / Qualifications
Min 5 years of experience in mechanical and thermal sciences, with focus on aluminum melting systems
Bachelors Degree in Engineering
Min 2 years of experience with CAD tools, (a plus to have both AutoCAD and SolidWorks)

Remote position with 20% travel
Initial onsite training 3 months Meadville, PA (3 weeks in office/1 week back home)
