American Traveler is hiring an Interventional Radiology Technologist with a minimum of 2 years of IR experience, including strong neuro/stroke proficiency, for a 13-week travel assignment.

Job Details

• Inpatient hospital-based Interventional Radiology unit,
• Patient population is predominantly adults and geriatrics, with some adolescents,
• Daily caseload of 13-17 cases requiring skills in both neuro and body procedures,
• Procedures include stents, angioplasty, angiograms, nephrograms, kyphoplasty, biopsies, drainages, upper and lower extremity studies, abdominal and pelvic studies, genitourinary studies, vascular studies, venous access, and neurological studies including stroke intervention,
• Required equipment: Siemens and Philips x-ray systems; Acuson preferred,
• Epic and McKesson charting systems preferred,
• Day shift, 5x8 hours, staggered start between 7:00 AM and 8:30 AM, Monday through Friday,
• Primary and backup on-call rotation for evenings, nights, and weekends,
• No float requirement within the unit; however, candidates must be comfortable floating within the hospital or to a nearby affiliate facility based on skill set and census,

Job Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of Interventional Radiology experience with strong neuro/stroke background required - this is a hard stop requirement,
• Minimum 1 year of scrub experience, including scrubbing on neuro cases, required,
• Travel experience required; first-time travelers will not be considered,
• ARRT (R) and BLS required; ARRT Advanced Certification preferred,
• Proficiency with PACS, contrast administration, and all listed IR procedures required,
• Experience with Siemens and Philips x-ray equipment required,
• Neuro and stroke intervention experience in an IR setting required,
• Inpatient hospital experience required,
• Teaching hospital, community hospital, and Level I trauma experience preferred,
• NC or Compact license required - license required if applicable,
• Two manager/supervisor references from within the past 12 months highly preferred,

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include performing a full range of IR procedures across body, vascular, genitourinary, and neurological categories, including stroke intervention, scrubbing to maintain sterile field, and operating Siemens and Philips imaging equipment,
• Orientation takes place during week one and candidates must be available for classes each day,
• RTO is not permitted after booking and cannot be worked out onsite - call-offs or additional RTO could result in contract cancellation,
• Up to 7 days of RTO may be auto-approved as long as it does not fall on a holiday; additional RTO requires facility approval,
• Candidates must work 2 out of 3 major holidays; no RTO is permitted during the first week of the assignment,
• Candidates who previously worked at this health system as permanent, PRN, or EP staff must wait 12 months before being considered for a travel assignment, and facility rehire approval is required,
• Current travel Per Diem clinicians at this health system are ineligible for a travel assignment; clinicians must choose one role or the other,
• Candidates with a permanent address within 50 miles of the facility will be considered at a local rate,
• Scrubs are provided
