Contract Backend GraphQL Node.js Developer - Remote working EST/CST hours

GraphQL – Backend Development // See MUST HAVE below

• Deep expertise in GraphQL (GQL)
  • Schema design (types, queries, mutations; subscriptions a plus)
  • Resolver implementation and data orchestration
  • Schema evolution, versioning, and backward compatibility
  • Query optimization, batching, and performance tuning
• Backend GraphQL Development
  • Hands-on experience building GraphQL APIs using Node.js
  • Strong TypeScript proficiency across schemas, resolvers, and services
  • Integration of GraphQL with REST APIs, microservices, and data sources
  • Authorization and access control at schema / field level
  • Experience with Apollo ecosystem (Server, Client, Federation, Studio)
• Frontend GraphQL Enablement
  • Experience supporting frontend teams consuming GraphQL APIs
  • Strong understanding of query patterns, fragments, and client usage
  • Ability to troubleshoot frontend ? backend GraphQL issues
• API & Engineering Fundamentals
  • Strong understanding of API design and contract-first development
  • Experience with error handling, logging, and observability for APIs
  • Familiarity with testing GraphQL APIs (unit and integration)

We are looking for a highly skilled Senior GraphQL Developer experience to design and build modern, scalable, and user-centric web applications. This role requires hands-on expertise with modern JavaScript frameworks and close collaboration with design, backend, and product teams. This role goes beyond API consumption and requires schema ownership, federation strategy, performance optimization, security design, and developer enablement.
