Duties/Responsibilities
• Develop, edit, and validate CMM programs using Calypso for Zeiss measurement systems.
• Perform dimensional inspection of aerospace engine hardware such as blades, vanes, disks, rings, cases, seals, and various precision features.
• Interpret engineering drawings, 3D CAD models, GD&T, and aerospace OEM specifications.
• Conduct First Article Inspections (FAI) in accordance with AS9102 requirements.
• Generate detailed, accurate inspection reports and measurement results for internal teams and customer submission.
• Work closely with quality engineering, manufacturing, and machining teams to resolve dimensional, tolerance stack-up, and process-related issues.
• Validate CMM programs through dry runs, correlation checks, and measurement repeatability testing.
• Ensure proper calibration, maintenance, and performance of Zeiss CMM equipment.
• Maintain revision control of programs, fixtures, and inspection documentation.
• Support corrective actions, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives related to metrology and inspection processes.
• Apply best practices for measurement of tight-tolerance, thin-wall, intricate geometries, and high-temperature aerospace materials (Inconel, Waspaloy, Titanium).
Required Skills/Abilities:
• 2+ years of experience in CMM programming or metrology in a precision manufacturing or aerospace environment.
• Proficiency in Calypso software and hands-on operation of Zeiss CMM equipment.
• Strong understanding of GD&T, blueprint reading, and 3D model interpretation.
• Experience inspecting aerospace hardware or similarly complex, tight-tolerance components.
• Knowledge of AS9100, AS9102, and engine OEM dimensional requirements.
• Ability to diagnose measurement issues caused by fixturing, environment, part geometry, machine capability, or program setup.
• Proficiency generating clear, traceable measurement reports.
• Strong analytical, communication, and documentation skills.
Education and Experience:
• Bachelor's Degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering,
• 2-5 years' experience in a manufacturing environment involving metals
• Experience inspecting engine rotating hardware (airfoils, rotors, disks, seals).
• Familiarity with other metrology systems such as PC-DMIS, PolyWorks, or Faro laser scanning.
• Background in aerospace manufacturing, MRO, or engine build support.
• Understanding of SPC, MSA, and dimensional analysis methodologies.
• Experience with model-based definitions (MBD) and digital inspection workflows.
• Candidate should be self-starter and able to work with minimal direction

• US Citizen due to program requirements
Physical Requirements:
• Prolonged periods standing and sitting at a desk working on a computer.
• Prolonged periods of standing and the ability to traverse a shop environment
• Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times.
