This position is responsible for maintaining and repairing the citys fleet of public transportation vehicles and equipment. Responsible for daily inspection, maintenance, and minor repairs to buses. Responsible for repairing, replacing, and maintaining tires and batteries. Inspects buses for damage, loose bolts, and transmission leaks. Washes and refuels buses daily; adding oil and fluids as needed. Responsible for draining air tanks, and installing and removing small electrical on vehicles. Responds to road calls as necessary, completes work orders, and orders parts as needed. Inspects safety equipment removes and vaults fareboxes, and runs night-time GFI reports. May work with and supervise tasks performed by community service workers. Withdraws revenue from fareboxes; stores revenue in the vault. Ensures that the supervisor is informed of all job-related issues. Provides transportation to, Homeland Security in the event of an emergency(Small or Large Buses).
