Pratt and Whitney Digital Technology - Manufacturing Applications, has a new position for a Principle Software Engineer, Columbus Forge.

This is an onsite opportunity located at our Pratt and Whitney facilities located in Columbus, Georgia.

What You Will Do:

  • The Columbus Forge has an opportunity for a talented Principle Software Engineer to join our team. Typical job functions include participation on collaborative, cross-disciplined integrated product teams, often employing agile software development techniques.
  • Responsibilities span the full lifecycle of product development, from architecture and design, data governance, through integration, testing and support of multiple applications site-wide.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, test, deliver, and maintain software with talented teams of engineers, architects, and leaders at all levels of Pratt & Whitney.
  • Participate on collaborative, cross-disciplined integrated product teams, employing agile software development techniques.
  • Learn and create the highest software engineering process maturity level across multiple Business Units.

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Advanced degree and 3 years of prior relevant experience; OR a Bachelor's degree and 5 years of prior relevant experience; OR an Associate's degree with 8 years of project management experience OR in lieu of a degree, 10+ years of prior relevant experience.
  • Experience in Software Engineering including working various phases of the software development lifecycle using C/C++, JAVA, JavaScript, C#/VB .NET, Python, and/or Ignition.
  • Experience with full-stack development (GUI, back-end services, middleware).
  • Familiarity with developing applications using communication protocols (e.g. TCP/IP, UDP, HTTP, HTTPS, RTP, SIP).
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Experience with DevOps, JIRA, Jenkins, GitHub, automated testing, real-time operating systems (RTOS), embedded programming, processor/board architecture and design, with generative tools such as Claude, Poolside or ChatGPT.
  • Exposure to Model Driven Development, understanding of standard system engineering design artifacts such as Use Cases and SysML diagrams.
  • Hands-on experience with Oracle databases and SQL, including the ability to write, optimize, and troubleshoot complex queries, as well as manage and maintain database systems to support business needs.
  • Applied experience in Unified Modeling Language (UML) and Object-Oriented Analysis and Design (OOA/D).
  • Familiarity with Agile lifecycle process including Scrum, Continuous Integration, and Test-Driven Development Methodologies.

Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance workers, as they are essential to the development of our engines.

The salary range for this role is 86,800 USD - 165,200 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills. Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company's performance. This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
