1099 Independent Contractor | One Day per Week | Flexible Scheduling

We are seeking a licensed DDS or DMD to perform Compensation and Pension (C&P) exams for Veterans. This is a meaningful opportunity to support those who have served by conducting structured, evaluation-based exams that directly impact disability benefit determinations.
This is not a traditional clinical role. There is no treatment planning, no ongoing patient care, and no production pressure. The role is focused entirely on objective examinations and documentation.
Position Details
1099 Independent Contractor
One day per week required
No minimum patient volume
Flexible scheduling with coordination through scheduling team
Malpractice and general liability insurance covered under company policy
Compensation
Each DBQ averages approximately 30 minutes.
Approximate Earnings Example
Because compensation is per DBQ, daily income depends on exam volume. For example:
8 DBQs in one day
Approximately $1,080
10 DBQs in one day
Approximately $1,350
12 DBQs in one day
Approximately $1,620
These figures are approximate and reflect potential earnings for the scheduled one day per week. Volume is not guaranteed.
Clinical Responsibilities
Conduct 20-minute face-to-face dental evaluations
Perform Oral and Dental Conditions examinations
Perform Temporomandibular Joint (TMJ) evaluations
Complete documentation using an electronic DBQ platform
Provide Medical Opinions when required (additional compensation provided)
Exams are focused and forensic in nature. The electronic system dynamically adjusts to ensure only required sections are completed.
Office and Equipment Requirements
Must maintain a dedicated office location
Office must be ADA and OSHA compliant, including wheelchair accessibility
Panoramic X-ray machine required for occasional exams
Training and Credentialing
Completion of VBA TRAIN (VA standardized online training) required prior to seeing Veterans
Self-paced online training, approximately 10-15 hours
CME/CEU credits provided
If previously completed through VA or another vendor, account can be linked
Credentialing support provided. Required documents include:
Resume
Proof of U.S. Citizenship or Permanent Residency
Background screening
Education verification
Authorization to credential
A Provider Liaison will be assigned after onboarding to assist with scheduling, availability, and portal support.
