Purpose

Entry-level position for customer service field activities and distribution systems and facilities applicable. Performs such work by company, regulatory, and safety procedures.

Accountabilities

Perform reads and re-read orders of residential, commercial, and induction gas meters

Record readings for billing purposes

Observe and report dangerous and damaged conditions about gas meters

Train to perform disconnects, automated meter reading, install modules, replace Automated Meter Reading devices

Complete all safety related training in a timely manner

Perform meter maintenance including painting meters

Complete electronic orders, atmospheric corrosion, and remediation

Change index on meters glass

Train to perform line locates

Install and perform maintenance of Automated Meter Reading (AMR) devices

Maintain comprehensive inventory of duties, responsibilities and qualifications required of employees in the job

Service and construction helper

Must perform stand-by duty, work shifts, holidays, weekends, emergency callouts, and occasional extensive hours

Is responsible for the safe operation inspection of assigned company vehicles and equipment

Demonstrate support for and adhere to the company's values, strategies, policies, and procedures and exhibits the core values of Liberty's mission statement, customer service, safety, and the company's code of conduct as an individual contributor and team member

The employee must become familiar with the safety manual and work according to its intent, while creating and maintaining a safe working environment

Perform other related job duties as assigned

Education and Experience

High school diploma or GED

Proficiency in basic computer knowledge

Demonstrate good written and verbal communication skills

No experience required

Must satisfy regulatory and company applicable classifications before performing a covered task independently

Valid Driver's License required

Working Conditions/Physical Requirements:

Must be physically able to stoop, bend, crawl, walk, climb ladders, and do heavy lifting. Able to lift and carry material up to 50lbs. Ability to occasionally ascend and descend stairs and ladders is required. Must also have keen senses of smell, hearing, vision, and color identification, the ability to work in all terrain and weather conditions as needed.
