Job Summary:

The Registered Behavior Technician will primarily provide individual services for children with an identified medical necessity for treatment using Applied Behavior Analysis. They will implement learning programs (communication, self-help, play skills) under the direct supervision of Board-Certified Behavior Analysts, collect data on target behaviors and implement behavior intervention plans. When not assigned to a client, the RBT will assist with general behavior support in the classrooms, collaborate with other therapy disciplines or conduct observations of new students.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Focus on changing the child's behavior by observing and measuring the behavior in community environments.

• Maintains effective and co-operative work relations with others.

• Gather behavioral data to track progress of behavioral objectives identified in the behavior plan and work with the BCBA to periodically modify the plan.

• Implement skill acquisition programs (communication, self-help, and play skills) and behavior reduction programs utilizing discrete trial teaching, incidental teaching and verbal behavior instruction as written and instructed by the BCBA.

• Collect data on all behaviors targeted and meet with supervisor weekly to analyze the information gathered and participate in initial and ongoing trainings.

• Support teachers with general behavior management when serving as the behavior support technician.

• Complete mandatory training and refresher training.

• Work closely with the supervisor to ensure completion of professional development requirements to maintain certification.

• Properly report all critical incidents and safety concerns regarding persons receiving services.

• Ensure that documentation is completed in a timely manner and in accordance with established organizational procedures and insurance requirements.

• Maintain a safe work environment.

• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Current knowledge of HIPAA law.

• Ability to secure and retain a Medicaid Provider Number.

QUALIFICATIONS INCLUDE:

• Minimum High Diploma

• BA or BS in psychology, social work, special education, or related field preferred.

PHYSICAL CAPABILITIES:

• Able to see and hear clearly, close, receive oral communication via phone and in person, and to provide a safe environment.

• Able to lift and carry items or children weighing up to 50 pounds.

• Able to stoop, kneel, crouch, and reach.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
