IT Business Systems Analyst

Description:

The IT Business Analyst will partner with business and technology stakeholders to elicit, analyze, document, and manage requirements that enable scalable, compliant, and user-centered solutions across the organization. This role is a firsthand individual contributor who translates business needs into clear functional and non-functional requirements, supports solution design, and drives alignment through testing, validation, and change readiness.

Qualifications:

  • College degree required.
  • Minimum 4 years' business analysis experience focused on requirements elicitation and documentation in an IT/technology delivery environment.
  • Experience working with Encompass required. Familiarity with Total Expert and PowerBI, preferred.
  • Familiarity with planning and building tools like Lucid Chart, Miro, Viso and Figma.
  • Demonstrated ability to independently lead discovery sessions and translate ambiguous needs into clear requirements.
  • Experience writing user stories and acceptance criteria; comfort working within Agile, hybrid, or SDLC environments.
  • Working knowledge of systems analysis concepts (workflows, integrations, data elements, roles/permissions, and controls).
  • Strong documentation and communication skills with the ability to present complex information clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines, and stakeholder expectations.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in mortgage lending and servicing, financial services, or other regulated industries.
  • Experience supporting API/integration requirements and basic data/reporting requirements (fields, definitions, lineage, reconciliation).
  • Exposure to vendor implementation projects and/or product configuration.
  • Knowledge of compliance, audit, and security considerations in technology delivery.
Essential Job Functions:
  • Lead requirements discovery for initiatives spanning core systems, workflow tools, data/reporting, integrations, and customer/employee-facing applications.
  • Facilitate stakeholder interviews, workshops, process mapping sessions, and working groups to define business problems, desired outcomes, and success measures.
  • Produce high-quality requirement artifacts, including:
  • Business requirements and functional requirements
  • User stories with acceptance criteria
  • Process maps (current state/future state), use cases, and data flows
  • Non-functional requirements (security, performance, availability, auditability)
  • Translate business requirements into actionable items for technical teams; clarify scope, assumptions, dependencies, and constraints.
  • Support solution evaluation by partnering with architects, developers, QA, and vendors to ensure the solution meets requirements and aligns with enterprise standards.
  • Maintain requirements traceability through the project lifecycle, managing changes and ensuring stakeholder sign-off.
  • Partner with QA and business stakeholders on test planning, UAT readiness, defect triage, and validation of delivered functionality.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and standardization; recommend practical enhancements to reduce friction and rework.
  • Provide concise communication to stakeholders on decisions, risks, open questions, and requirement status.
  • Contribute to BA practice maturity by improving templates, standards, and ways of working.

The range provided reflects the expected compensation for this role and is considered a general guideline. Actual compensation will be decided based on factors such as geographic location, skills, education, experience assessed during the interview process, and internal pay equity. Compensation may also include incentives such as per-file bonuses and discretionary bonuses as applicable to the role.
