JOB DESCRIPTION:
Theoris is assisting our client with a search for a Data Analyst to support implementation of newly approved capacity market reform impacting generation resources . This role will be a mix of supporting ongoing base business activities with particular focus on identifying and implementing streamlining opportunities and assisting the project team with overall implementation of the new reform. The position emphasizes data manipulation, exception handling, and delivery of final work products.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Data Analysis: Understand and apply data inputs for Schedule 53A (recently approved capacity resource accreditation methodology). Perform calculations based on straightforward mathematics while managing significant volumes of historic hourly data governed by exception sets and residing in disparate systems.

Streamlining: Apply understanding of existing processes and data flows to support and implement defined process streamlining opportunities.

Problem Solving: Analyze and resolve complex implementation challenges, including working through inconsistent naming conventions, data gaps, and cross-system discrepancies.

Organization and Attention to Detail: Establish milestones and manage work to meet established project timelines while maintaining high data accuracy.

Collaboration: Partner with a diverse implementation team and cross-functional stakeholders to support successful delivery of reform initiatives.

Documentation: Ensure implementation processes, methodologies, and outputs are thoroughly documented and audit-ready.

Data Tool Utilization: Manage large, granular datasets (e.g., hourly data) and support development or use of analytical tools and calculations derived from those datasets.

Project Support: Assist in managing components of large, complex projects related to capacity market reform implementation.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Experience working with large, complex, and highly granular datasets.
  • Strong data analysis and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Experience with query tools, Python, or similar data manipulation tools preferred.
  • High attention to detail with strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across cross-functional teams.
  • Experience in or exposure to the electric utility or energy market environment is beneficial.
  • Experience supporting large, complex project implementations preferred.
  • Must be local to the Indianapolis area or willing to relocate; onsite presence required four days per week.
