Job Details

This position is responsible for maintaining the security of the correctional facility. Supervises and observes inmates. Conducts counts of inmates. Makes rounds of the institution to maintain security. Supervises routine cleaning and maintenance activities within the institution. Performs searches of inmates mail, lockers, dormitories, and buildings to remove contraband. Ensures inmate compliance with department policies and procedures. Administers medication and first aid; responds to inmate requests for other medical attention. Serves as control and visitation room officer. Transfers inmates to and from court, medical facilities, work assignments, and various appointments. Supervises medication, store, telephone, doctor, visitation, meal, and dental calls. Assists with conducting searches for escapees. Ensures inmate compliance with department policies and procedures. Maintains daily reports on all incidents.
