Applications will be screened. Those qualified will be invited to participate in a performance test and an oral interview. Applicants must successfully pass each of the selection processes by 70% or better to proceed in the process.

Performs semiskilled tasks related to the construction, maintenance, and repair of water and sewer systems; installs, maintains, and records water meters; and operates related equipment. Work may also require frequent interaction with the public.

Work is primarily performed in outdoor weather conditions with frequent exposure to moving mechanical parts; work is occasionally performed in high, precarious places; occasional exposure to fumes or airborne particles and blood borne pathogens. Protective equipment such as Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus, respirators, masks, goggles, hearing protection, and gloves may be required. Typical noise level is very loud (e.g. jackhammer or industrial environments).
