Material Handling Equipment Operator

YourResponsibilities:

  • Operate forklifts safely and efficiently.
  • Stack and unstack lumber on kiln carts, unloading and organizing materials in accordance with our stacking policy.
  • Collect loose boards from the yard and kiln, sorting usable from unusable boards, and transferring them to the appropriate units.
  • Maintain cleanliness in the kiln areas and lumber yard, and grease kiln carts as required.
  • Assist with maintenance duties and support the burner's tasks as directed by the supervisor or kiln operator.
  • Conduct pre-shift forklift inspections and ensure refueling is completed.
  • Follow all established safety procedures and verify that safety interlocks are functioning correctly.

Qualifications You Will Need:

  • A High School Diploma or GED.
  • Minimum of 6 months experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment preferred.
  • Prior experience operating industrial forklifts, including 35,000-pound forklifts.
  • Able to distinguish between sizes, widths, and lengths of lumber.
  • Capable of working outdoors in varying temperatures and performing physical tasks in a loud, high-volume environment.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, stand, walk, climb stairs, and bend as needed.
  • Commitment to adhere to our safety policies and procedures.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members.
  • Willingness to work rotating shifts, including nights, holidays, and weekends.
  • Employment is contingent upon passing a background check, drug screening, and physical examination.
