Overview

POSITION SUMMARY: The team leader is responsible for building the capability of his/her team to deliver against the department masterplan through rigorous execution of work processes and standards.

Responsibilities
  • Hold team accountable to execution to standards.
  • Ensure all associates receive their allotted breaks and lunch periods while maintaining production run rate.
  • Manage skills matrix for your team and ensure all associates have a training plan developed.
  • Escalate issues that need further attention properly.
  • Demonstrate the GSF Creed and Values.
  • Drive Daily Management Systems to deliver improved results every shift, every day.
  • Ensure any safety/quality/food safety behavior and condition issues are resolved quickly.
  • Own teams results.
  • Drive effective operational reviews (shift hand-off, shiftly ops review).
  • Lead team meetings.
  • Responsible for updating the visual board.
  • Ensure team members are growing in capability.
  • Work with the line leader on administration of people management systems (staffing, training, etc.).
  • Communication - ensure your team is receiving the right information.
  • Use problem solving skills and root cause analysis to resolve and/or mitigate operational issues.
  • Lead culture discussions (creed and values).
Qualifications/Education
  • REQUIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: High school diploma or GED.
  • MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to use mathematical functions including addition, subtraction, multiplication and division in accordance with production paperwork.
  • LANGUAGE SKILLS: High level of reading comprehension; ability to write detailed correspondence and documentation; ability to use effective problem-solving skills.
  • PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Ability to wear personal protective equipment and/or clothing; stand/walk 8 or more hours per day; constantly twist/turn and talk/hear; frequently squat, bend, reach, handle/finger, grip/grasp and use fine motor tasks; occasionally lift up to 25 lbs from floor to shoulder level and carry 30 feet; specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and color vision.
  • ENVIRONMENTAL/ATMOSPHERIC CONDITIONS: Constantly work in damp, wet, humid and slippery environments; constantly work near moving machinery; constantly work in cold (35-40 degrees); constantly work in high noise levels requiring hearing protection.
  • MACHINES/TOOLS/EQUIPMENT/SOFTWARE: Bump cap, hair net, safety glasses, hearing protection, and smock; rubber and cotton gloves; knowledge of equipment on the production line you are responsible for; ability to use computers/tablets including basic software such as Microsoft Word and Excel.
