POSITION SUMMARY: The team leader is responsible for building the capability of his/her team to deliver against the department masterplan through rigorous execution of work processes and standards.
Responsibilities
Hold team accountable to execution to standards.
Ensure all associates receive their allotted breaks and lunch periods while maintaining production run rate.
Manage skills matrix for your team and ensure all associates have a training plan developed.
Escalate issues that need further attention properly.
Demonstrate the GSF Creed and Values.
Drive Daily Management Systems to deliver improved results every shift, every day.
Ensure any safety/quality/food safety behavior and condition issues are resolved quickly.
Work with the line leader on administration of people management systems (staffing, training, etc.).
Communication - ensure your team is receiving the right information.
Use problem solving skills and root cause analysis to resolve and/or mitigate operational issues.
Lead culture discussions (creed and values).
Qualifications/Education
REQUIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: High school diploma or GED.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to use mathematical functions including addition, subtraction, multiplication and division in accordance with production paperwork.
LANGUAGE SKILLS: High level of reading comprehension; ability to write detailed correspondence and documentation; ability to use effective problem-solving skills.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Ability to wear personal protective equipment and/or clothing; stand/walk 8 or more hours per day; constantly twist/turn and talk/hear; frequently squat, bend, reach, handle/finger, grip/grasp and use fine motor tasks; occasionally lift up to 25 lbs from floor to shoulder level and carry 30 feet; specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and color vision.
ENVIRONMENTAL/ATMOSPHERIC CONDITIONS: Constantly work in damp, wet, humid and slippery environments; constantly work near moving machinery; constantly work in cold (35-40 degrees); constantly work in high noise levels requiring hearing protection.
MACHINES/TOOLS/EQUIPMENT/SOFTWARE: Bump cap, hair net, safety glasses, hearing protection, and smock; rubber and cotton gloves; knowledge of equipment on the production line you are responsible for; ability to use computers/tablets including basic software such as Microsoft Word and Excel.
