What's the role? Seeking a Logistics and Distribution Manager for North America, a senior-level individual contributor role as part of the Regional Supply Chain Operations team. Responsible for all management of operational logistics and distribution activities and performances. This person ensures that resources (people & infrastructure) as well as systems and processes meet customers' service level expectations, as well as regulatory and legal requirements. Responsible of having optimized balancing service level and logistics costs.

Here's what you'll do:
- Meet Zeiss requirement with 3PL and Freight performances.
- Logistics services monitoring: "smooth" processes execution, on-time delivery, compliant management according to Zeiss standards.
- Inbound: ASN accuracy and all relevant information for the 3PL, transportation to the 3PL, booking performances.
- Warehousing: storage conditions, physical inventory accuracy, blocking/unblocking process management.
- Outbound: Products on-time ship, Pick & pack accuracy.
- Returns: Management at 3PL with follow up actions.
- Transportations: Ensure adequation between customers/market expectations and carriers' capability (Carrier performances management &/or outsourced to the 3PL).
- Build relationship with Upstream (with Zeiss production sites or supplier) and Downstream (with Zeiss SSCs/end customers and 3PL/Freight partners).
- Develop regional Logistics Fiscal Year budget and 3PL/Freight invoice validation and payments.
- Close IT interface monitoring if any (between Zeiss and the 3PL and/or Freight partners) : alert IT department in case of IDOC issues, inventory reconciliation between Zeiss system and 3PL & Freight systems, data accuracy.
- Monitor and reporting Key Performances Indicators (as per SLA).
- Act as a liaison represents Zeiss resolve all issues and escalations raised by internal or external regarding on-time delivery, custom and traffic and service level.
- Lead continuous improvement activities and transformation projects.
- Facilitate 3PL Business Review process and agenda.
- Support 3PL onsite routine audits of processes, inventory count, scraps as needed.
- Act as SME maintains working knowledge of 3PL and Freight business control processes and experience with ERP and business software and BI applications.
Do you qualify? - Minimum Associate/Bachelor's in business, engineering, supply chains, distribution logistics, or operations.
- Minimum seven (7) years related knowledge and experience in the following: distribution, warehousing, inventory control, shipping and receiving, custom and traffic, materials handling, 3PL and freight management.
- Experience in 3PL management, Healthcare/Medical and ISO environments are required
- Intermediate in Excel, excellent in communication skills.
- Project management and contract negotiation skills are desired.
- Demonstrate leadership ability and work collaboratively across multicultural teams.
- Must have set priorities and problem resolution skills.
- Ability to define, improve and train on procedures, problem solve through root-cause approach and strong data analyses.
- Must have working knowledge of SAP ERP and Scanning Equipment.
- Frequent travel to 3PL site is expected as projects needed.
SF Bay Area: $119,000 - $148,800
NY Metro: $112,200 - $140,200
The pay offered for this role may be influenced by factors such as job location, scope of role, qualifications, education, experience, & complexity/specialization/scarcity of talent.
This position is eligible for a Performance Bonus.
