Warehouse Forklift Operator

Your Responsibilities:

  • Safely operate a forklift, stack and unstack lumber on kiln carts, and unload materials at production levels.
  • Organize lumber on the yard according to safety stacking policies, picking up loose boards and separating usable materials.
  • Maintain cleanliness in the kiln areas and lumber yard, ensuring an organized and safe work environment.
  • Perform daily pre-shift checks and maintenance for the forklift, including refueling and verifying safety interlocks.
  • Assist with various maintenance duties as requested and support team members to achieve operational goals.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Ability to work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • A high school diploma or GED is required.
  • A minimum of six months of experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment is preferred.
  • Previous industrial forklift experience is essential, with the ability to manage a forklift weighing up to 35,000 pounds.
  • Capability to distinguish sizes and dimensions of lumber, and perform physical tasks, including walking, standing, bending, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
  • Strong commitment to safety and adherence to all established safety procedures.
  • Effective communication skills to collaborate with team members and support a positive team culture.
  • Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a background check, drug screening, and physical examination.
