Job Summary: Our client is seeking a Manager of Data Engineering to join their team! This position is remote.
Duties:
Recruits, mentors, and develops a team of data architects with varied levels of expertise
Cultivates an inclusive, collaborative culture that values curiosity, consistency, and scalable design
Aligns team responsibilities and expertise with enterprise priorities
Clears roadblocks and supports career development
Leads the evolution of enterprise data architecture, including integration standards, medallion architecture, service and API design, and platform interoperability
Partners with Data Engineering, Governance, Product, and Infrastructure teams to ensure architecture supports both immediate use cases and long-term scalability
Owns and evolves architecture patterns and models that support both operational and analytic workloads
Provides architectural guidance on key data initiatives, ensuring solutions are scalable, performant, secure, and compliant
Guides the use of data modeling, metadata standards, and lineage tools
Evaluates new technologies and supports architecture decisions for platform investments
Champions architecture alignment with governance, data quality, and privacy standards
Ensures architecture supports regulatory compliance, data stewardship, and clear lineage
Collaborates with Data Governance to define ownership boundaries and metadata expectations
Partners with Data Engineering and Product to ensure architecture enables timely delivery and iteration
Works with Product, Analytics, AI/ML, Security, and Infrastructure to ensure alignment on solution patterns
Supports project estimation, technical planning, and platform scalability conversations across teams
Supports architectural documentation, review cycles, and governance boards
Tracks adoption of architectural patterns and frameworks across teams
Assesses technical risks and alignment to strategic objectives
Desired Skills/Experience:
Bachelor's degree or a combination of relevant experience and training; relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree
10+ years of relevant experience preferred
Prior management of teams
Strong understanding of modern data architecture such as: medallion, event-driven or API-first
Experience with data modeling, lineage, metadata management, and platform integration
Proven leadership and people management capability
Effective communicator, able to translate between business goals and technical solutions
Comfort operating in a hybrid architecture environment such as: structured + semi-structured or batch + streaming

The approximate pay range for this position starting at $127,400. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to background, knowledge, skills, and location. We comply with local wage minimums.
