The opportunity
We currently have an opportunity for a Senior Citrix Engineer to join our IT team based in our Canton, MA office on a hybrid schedule or remotely nationwide. We are seeking a highly experienced and strategic Senior Citrix Engineer to lead the design, implementation, and optimization of our Citrix infrastructure. This role will focus on managing and evolving our DaaS virtual desktops and apps environment, and contributing to our hybrid cloud strategy with Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD). Familiarity with ShareFile is a plus. Some of the Senior Citrix Engineer responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Architect, deploy, and maintain Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops (XenApp/XenDesktop) environments, including both shared and dedicated (DaaS) resources
- Manage published applications across Citrix and PAM environments, ensuring high availability, performance, and security
- Lead the migration and integration efforts between Citrix and Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD), including image management, user experience optimization, and cost modeling.
- Provide Tier 3 support and root cause analysis for complex Citrix-related incidents and performance issues
- Serve as escalation point and mentor for junior and mid-level administrators
- Collaborate with security, compliance, and application teams to ensure Citrix environments meet regulatory and operational standards
- Maintain and enhance Citrix App Layering, Provisioning, StoreFront, and Citrix Cloud components
- Develop and maintain AutoIt web and application integration with Privileged Access Management (PAM)
- Support ShareFile licensing, access, and integration as needed, as well as management of on-premises data StorageZone Controllers
- Participate in disaster recovery planning and annual DR exercises involving Citrix and AVD platforms.
- Automate administrative tasks using PowerShell and other scripting tools
- Document architecture, configurations, and standard operating procedures
The expertise you bring - 5+ years of experience in Citrix engineering roles, at least 2 years in a lead capacity preferred
- Deep expertise in Citrix DaaS, Desktop, Application, and Provisioning technologies
- Experience with Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) in enterprise environments is a plus
- Strong understanding of Citrix App Layering, FSLogix, and profile management.
- Proficiency in PowerShell scripting and automation
- Familiarity with Citrix Cloud, NetScaler, and Citrix Workspace App
- Working knowledge of ShareFile administration and licensing models
- Experience with Windows Server and Desktop environments, Active Directory, and Group Policy
- Strong communication and documentation abilities
- Strong troubleshooting skills and experience with monitoring tools (e.g., Citrix Director, ControlUp, vCenter)
- Strong problem-solving skills, critical thinking, analytical skills, and great organization abilities
- Familiarity with compliance frameworks (e.g., NYDFS, HIPAA) as they relate to virtual desktop infrastructure
- Bachelor's degree in technology-related field is preferred
- Citrix certifications (e.g., CCP-V, CCE-V) desired
Our salary ranges are determined by many factors including location, role, experience and skillset of the candidate. The following ranges displayed reflect the target base salary for new hires; however, your recruiter will provide more specific compensation details during the hiring process. The typical base salary range for this position is: $135,000 - $179,000, based on the factors aforementioned. For candidates located in San Francisco, CA; Washington DC; our Massachusetts based offices and the New York City metro area, the base salary range is $157,000 - $184,000. In addition to base salary, full time Intact employees are also eligible for bonus potential and a full range of benefits to include but not limited to:
