Job Description

Cottage Health seeks a Manager, Contracting responsible for provide research, analysis, recommendations and implementation of managed care and service contracts as well as lease agreements for Cottage Health and affiliated entities. Accountabilities include strategizing, reviewing and negotiating managed care contracts working with the CFO, financial planning, and legal to plan for adequate reimbursement for healthcare services.

Responsibilities

  • Assists in the development of value-based contract strategy, including bundled payment arrangements, capitated payment arrangements, etc.
  • Interfaces with Patient Business Services on disputes between contract payment and actual payment.
  • Supports requests and negotiates payment from non-contracted third party payers for services provided to inpatients of the three hospitals.
  • Supports VPs, department directors and managers on service contract and lease review, initiation and renewal, ensuring compliance with the Cottage Health Contract for Services policy. Provides recommendations for cost savings and compliance improvements.
  • Administrator for the contract management system (MediTract) for managed care and service contracts. Maintenance of system to ensure adequacy and accuracy of the contract database.
  • Communicates throughout the organization on issues related to all contracts and leases, including payer and vendor programs, policies and procedures. Provides recommendations for contract policy updates.


Qualifications

All job qualifications listed indicate the minimum level necessary to perform this job proficiently.

LEVEL OF EDUCATION

Minimum: Bachelors Degree

Preferred: Masters Degree

CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Preferred: Certified Revenue Cycle Representative

TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS

Minimum: High proficiency with Word, Excel & Power Point; ability to navigate online Minimum: databases & complete detailed data entry in an online format.

Preferred: Proficiency with MediTract or comparable online database

YEARS OF RELATED WORK EXPERIENCE

Minimum: 2 years experience managing contracts.

Preferred: 5 years experience managing contracts.
