Position Details
- Role: Kennel Technician
- Status: Full-time
- Salary: Negotiable and based on experience
- Schedule: 30-40 hours with rotating schedule, including some Saturday and Sunday shifts
Job Duties Include:
- Transporting pets to and from kennels.
- Ensuring that the animals always have ample fresh food and water
- Cleaning animal waste, spilled food, hair and other debris from kennels
- Accompany animals on walks, if required
- Calming animals that are in distress
- Bathing dogs and cats
- Reporting significant changes in functioning to the Veterinarian or medical professional on duty
- Evacuating all animals in case of an emergency
- Assisting Veterinarians -experience required
- Previous experience caring for animals
- Strong organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills
- Physically fit and agile
- Capacity to lift to 50 pounds unaided.
- A passion for animal welfare
- Available to work evenings, on weekends and public holidays
- Previous experience as kennel tech preferred.
