Your Key Responsibilities Include:

• Enforcing customs, immigration, and agricultural laws and regulations.
• Facilitating the smooth flow of legitimate trade and travel.
• Conducting thorough inspections of individuals and conveyances.
• Determining the admissibility of individuals entering the United States.
• Preventing the illegal entry of individuals and prohibited goods, including the smuggling of drugs and other contraband.

Compensation and Benefits

As a newly appointed BEO, you may be eligible for an annual incentive of up to $15,000 with a three or four-year service commitment, depending on your duty location. Your annual base salary will range from $40,332 to $109,952, with additional overtime opportunities that can add up to $45,000.

To Qualify for the GS-5 Grade Level, You Must Meet the Following Criteria:

• At least three years of full-time general work experience demonstrating your interpersonal skills and capacity for learning.
• A bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
• A combination of experience and education may be acceptable.

For the GS-7 Grade Level:

• One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-5 level.
• A bachelor's degree with Superior Academic Achievement, or one full year of graduate-level education.
• A combination of specialized experience and graduate education may also qualify you.

Requirements:

• You must be a U.S. Citizen.
• You must meet the age restrictions pertaining to law enforcement retirement provisions.
• Formal training includes a two-week paid orientation and a 101-day training program at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center in Glynco, GA.
