Job Description
Position Title: Teacher: Special Education
Supervises: Directly supervises students assigned to his/her classes. Indirectly supervises all students.
Job Goal: To help students learn concepts and skills that will contribute to their development as mature, functional responsible members of society.
Qualifications: 1. Alabama teaching certificate in the area of instructional exceptionality. 2. Valid driver's license is preferred.
Reports To: School Principal with technical supervision by Coordinator of Special Education
Salary: To be determined commensurate with local salary matrix, credentials, and experience.

Other Skills and Abilities: Ability to apply knowledge of current research and theory to instructional programs; ability to plan and implement lessons based on division and school objectives and the needs and abilities of students to whom assigned. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, peers, and parents and community; ability to speak clear and concisely in written or oral communication.
