The firm focuses exclusively on workers compensation, bringing more than 75 years of combined experience to injured workers and their families and fighting to secure maximum benefits under Georgia law./ppGerber Holder is seeking a skilled Workers Compensation Paralegal to step into a busy litigation practice and immediately support a high-volume attorney in the Atlanta office. Once a client is signed, you receive the file, take ownership of the case management, and work closely with your attorney to move 90 or more active cases forward through discovery, hearings, and resolution./ppWhat youll do:/pulliCase Ownership and File Management: Tracking important appointments, legal documents in addition to filing deadlines for designated clients and cases while maximizing Game Changing Attorneys time, potential and efficiency./liliDiscovery Drafting and Responses: Draft discovery requests, respond to discovery, prepare responses to interrogatories and requests for production, and manage discovery deadlines. Coordinate with clients to gather information and documents needed to complete responses accurately and on time./liliLitigation Calendar and Deadlines: Track all key dates, including discovery cutoffs, hearings, mediations, IMEs, depositions, and Board deadlines. Ensure your attorney is fully prepared, no deadline is missed, and follow up tasks after each event is completed./liliClient Communication and Support: Serve as a primary point of contact for clients after they are signed. Provide updates, explain the process in plain language, gather necessary information, and help clients feel supported during what is often one of the most stressful periods of their lives./liliMedical and Benefit Documentation: Request, receive, and organize medical records, wage information, and other documentation needed to support claims. Verify completeness and accuracy so the attorney can quickly assess exposure, treatment status, and settlement posture./liliAttorney Partnership: Work one-on-one with an assigned attorney, anticipating needs, preparing case summaries, drafting routine pleadings and correspondence, and flagging issues that require legal strategy decisions. Bring solutions and recommendations, not just problems./liliCommunication with Opposing Counsel and Adjusters: Coordinate with defense counsel, adjusters, and other parties regarding discovery, scheduling, and routine case progress. Keep interactions professional, firm, and aligned with the clients interests and the attorneys litigation strategy./liliHearing, Mediation, and Settlement Support: Prepare hearing and mediation binders, exhibits, and witness materials.
