Job Description: Change Implementation Manager - Payments / Merchant Acquiring

Location: Irving, TX (Hybrid)
Duration: 6 Month Contract
Pay: $36/hr W2 Only

Overview

We are seeking an experienced Change Implementation Manager to lead and manage client-facing implementations within a payments and merchant acquiring environment. This role serves as the primary point of contact for clients during onboarding and change initiatives, ensuring smooth transitions, clear communication, and successful delivery. The ideal candidate combines strong project management capabilities with technical acumen, deep customer service skills, and hands-on experience with payments platforms such as FIS or Cybersource.

Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end implementation and change management activities for merchant acquiring and payments clients.
  • Serve as the primary client-facing contact, managing communication, expectations, and issue resolution throughout onboarding and change initiatives.
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams including product, technology, operations, risk, and customer support to deliver implementations on time and within scope.
  • Manage project plans, timelines, milestones, risks, and dependencies for multiple concurrent implementations.
  • Support client onboarding, configuration, testing, and go-live activities.
  • Leverage knowledge of payments platforms (FIS, Cybersource) to guide technical discussions and implementation decisions.
  • Translate technical requirements into clear, client-friendly documentation and communication.
  • Proactively identify risks, impacts, and change implications; develop mitigation plans as needed.
  • Ensure a high level of customer satisfaction through proactive service, issue management, and follow-up.
  • Maintain accurate project and implementation documentation and reporting.
Required Skills & Experience
  • Experience working as an Implementation Manager, Change Manager, or Project Manager within payments or merchant acquiring environments.
  • Strong knowledge of merchant acquiring, payment processing, and onboarding workflows.
  • Hands-on experience with FIS and/or Cybersource tools or platforms.
  • Strong client engagement and communication skills, with experience managing external stakeholders.
  • Solid project management skills, including planning, execution, and risk management.
  • Strong customer service mindset with the ability to manage escalations professionally.
  • Proven stakeholder management skills across technical and business teams.
  • Strong technical acumen, with the ability to understand and discuss system integrations and configurations.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience managing multiple implementations simultaneously.
  • Familiarity with Agile or hybrid project delivery environments.
  • Experience supporting enterprise or mid-market merchant clients.
  • Knowledge of APIs, integrations, and payment gateway configurations.
