Job Title: Manual Tester
Location: Brazil, LATAM (Remote)
Duration: 12 months
$15 - $20/hr on W2
About the Role:
We are seeking a detail-oriented Manual Software Tester to join our quality assurance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring that software applications meet business requirements and function correctly through systematic testing. This role involves designing and executing test cases, documenting results, and collaborating closely with developers and product teams to identify, track, and resolve issues.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review requirements, specifications, and technical design documents to provide timely and meaningful feedback.
- Develop, document, and execute detailed test cases, test scenarios, and test scripts.
- Perform different types of testing including functional, regression, integration, user acceptance, and exploratory testing.
- Identify, log, and track defects using issue tracking tools (e.g., Jira, Bugzilla, or Azure DevOps).
- Verify fixes and performs re-testing of resolved defects.
- Collaborate with developers, business analysts, and project managers to ensure software quality.
- Participate in test planning, estimation, and status reporting activities.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of QA processes and testing documentation.
Required Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- 2-5 years of experience in manual software testing.
- Strong understanding of the software development lifecycle (SDLC) and testing methodologies (Agile, Waterfall).
- Hands-on experience with test management and defect tracking tools (e.g., Jira, TestRail, Zephyr).
- Ability to analyze business and functional requirements to develop comprehensive test coverage.
- Excellent attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and communication abilities.
Preferred Qualifications: - Experience testing web and mobile applications.
- Familiarity with SQL for basic database validation.
- Knowledge of APIs and experience with API testing tools (e.g., Postman).
- Exposure to automation testing concepts and tools (a plus).
