Associate Counsel - New Jersey (REMOTE)

Defend lawsuits filed in New Jersey courts and other first?party insurance defense.

Base Pay Range

$112,750.00/yr $186,550.00/yr

Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Research laws and prepare legal briefs, opinions, and memoranda.
  • Render opinions on liability, damages, and value as requested by the Claims Department.
  • Prepare and handle pleadings, motions, and discovery, including depositions/examinations before trial, examinations under oath, and defense by trial or dispositive hearing on all assigned matters.

Basic Qualifications
  • 2 to 6+ years of litigation experience in insurance defense and/or personal injury.
  • Juris Doctor degree REQUIRED.
  • Admission to the New Jersey Bar REQUIRED.
  • Licensed in good standing to practice law in New Jersey and meet CLE requirements.
  • Ability to travel as required for trials, hearings, depositions, meetings, and conferences.
  • Clear, concise, professional written documentation skills.
  • Strong organization, prioritization, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Ability to learn and apply large amounts of technical and procedural information.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Civil litigation experience.
  • Insurance defense litigation experience.
  • Professional communication skills in person, via telephone, and written correspondence/email.
