MILLWRIGHT TECHNICIAN

As a crucial member of our team, the Millwright Technician will actively contribute to a company-wide continuous improvement initiative through effective troubleshooting, predictive, and preventative maintenance. You will ensure safe operations with all machinery within the mill.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Perform repairs and maintenance on industrial equipment, including conveying systems and major machinery such as debarkers, canters, gang saws, and edgers.
  • Read and interpret technical drawings and printed instructions accurately.
  • Work independently and safely under pressure.
  • Understand the alignment of pumps, sheaves, and sprockets.
  • Maneuver and position machinery and equipment using hoists, dollies, rollers, and trucks.
  • Adjust tension on nuts and bolts, and set specified clearances using hand tools and measuring devices.
  • Align machines and equipment using various tools comprising hoists, jacks, squares, and plumb tools.
  • Assemble and install equipment with precision using hand tools and power tools.
  • Prepare for mounting by laying out holes accurately and drilling as necessary.
  • Replace defective machine parts and ensure proper alignment and clearances.
  • Level bedplates and establish centerlines effectively.
  • Dismantle machines safely using appropriate tools.
  • Attach moving components and subassemblies to basic assembly units proficiently.

To Succeed in This Role, You Will Need:

  • A strong safety orientation and adherence to ZES protocols.
  • A High School Diploma or GED.
  • Your own basic toolset.
  • A minimum of 3 years of verifiable experience as a millwright in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with cutting torches (Oxygen/Acetylene).
  • Welding experience (GMAW and SMAW).
  • Flexibility to work nights, weekends, holidays, and rotating shifts, including overtime and on-call duties to support 24/7 operations.
  • Successful completion of an assessment test, pre-employment drug screen, physical, and background check.
