Summary:

Our award-winning client is seeking a Field Service Technician to join their team! Our client is searching for an experienced Field Service Technician to play a key role in maintaining and optimizing our facility. You'll be responsible for troubleshooting equipment issues, overseeing maintenance schedules, and leading a team of technicians.

Responsibilities:

  • Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical equipment breakdowns to minimize downtime.
  • Manage and develop Valway Engineering Services associates.
  • Schedule maintenance for process and material handling equipment.
  • Analyze downtime events and implement corrective actions.
  • Maintain spare part inventory to prevent production disruptions.
  • Track and document associate performance (safety, quality, productivity, attendance).
  • Oversee labor costs, including training, overtime, and premiums.
  • Ensure equipment is maintained by qualified and properly trained associates.
  • Develop and maintain training records for direct reports.
  • Schedule Valway engineering and maintenance personnel to meet production demands.
  • Lead daily team maintenance activities, ensuring equipment meets operating standards.
  • Motivate and engage Engineering Services associates and technicians.
  • Assist with equipment acquisition and installation, staying within budget.
  • Monitor contractor safety program adherence.
  • Oversee utility functions and work to reduce utility costs.
  • Manage supply cost centers, aiming to reduce supply expenses.
  • Ensure equipment meets environmental and regulatory permit requirements.
  • Collaborate with the Valway ES Leader on plant facilities maintenance and repairs.
Required Qualifications:
  • A bachelor's degree in a related field or 5+ years of Engineering Services experience (fabric finishing preferred).
  • Strong leadership, communication, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
  • Financial acumen and business sense.
  • Supervisory experience and ability to provide constructive feedback.
