Job Summary

This position is responsible for representing clients in all areas of insurance defense practice, handling cases that are primarily low in complexity and exposure. The attorney manages all phases of cases from intake to resolution.

Essential Job Functions

  • Litigates low‑complexity and exposure cases and performs duties necessary from intake to trial and/or settlement.
  • Prepares pleadings, motions, discovery, and briefs.
  • Attends hearings, conferences, interviews, mediations, arbitrations, and/or trials.
  • Proactively informs leadership of case handling opportunities and challenges encountered.
  • Consults with the Claims Department on the legal aspects of files.
  • Performs other tasks or duties to ensure efficient case management.
  • Might act as second chair on trials or handle trials in cases with minimal complexity and/or exposure.
  • May provide support to senior attorneys in more complex matters and receive developmental assignments of moderate complexity and/or exposure.

Physical Actions

Typical work environment includes climate‑controlled indoor space. Employee may sit or stand for prolonged periods, use fine‑motor skills for typing, and occasionally lift or move objects weighing up to 50 lbs. Travel between office locations and field sites may be required.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree preferred. Licensed to practice law in applicable states is required upon hire.

Experience Requirements

Civil litigation and/or personal/body injury experience preferred.

Special Skill Requirements

Public speaking, ability to function in adversarial or confrontational situations, and driving.
