Proposed Salary Range: $13.21 - $13.86 Hourly (Based on Experience)
Shift: First Shift (Onsite/No Remote or Hybrid) - Monday - Thursday (6am - 430pm) Occasional Friday shifts as needed
The Packer performs those duties involved with the actual packaging of batteries in a fast pace, high speed environment and prepares batteries for movement to the shipping warehouse.
The Packer should have the capability to read and interpret process information; and understand the impact their actions have on the quality objective.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Inspects product to ensure it is packaged according to specifications.
- Feeds product to conveyors, hoppers, or other feeding devices, and unloads packaged product.
- Replenishes packaging supplies such as wrapping paper, plastic sheet, boxes, cartons, glue, ink, or labels.
- Mounts supplies on spindles or places supplies in hopper or other feeding devices. Required to move product by using pallet jack to load in machine or moving product to warehouse.
- Positions and holds container in machine and depresses pedal, presses button, or moves lever to clean, glue, label, or tape container.
- Tallies number of units of product packaged or records information such as size, weight, and type of products packaged.
- Inspects the finished output:
- Inspects packaged batteries to determine if the packages meet company specifications and standards.
- Checks the inner and outer boxes for date codes, catalog numbers, etc.
- Ensures the correct placement of the product into the boxes.
- Informs the Group Leader and Supervisor of the results of the quality checks and ensures that the needed corrective actions are taken.
- Maintains accurate log sheets and records of production output, downtime reports, test results, reject data, etc.
