Job Details

This position is responsible for enforcing various local, state, and federal environmental laws. Enforces local and state codes pertaining to business and alcohol licensing, mobile home registration, noise, scrap tires, standing water, water flow obstructions, biomedical waste, solid waste accumulation, damaging or defacing of public property, noxious odors, open burning, obstruction of city right-of-way, the display of street addresses, littering, junk vehicles, dangerous holes and wells, soil erosion and sedimentation control, commercial waste disposal, and hazardous waste. Answers citizen and other agency complaints; investigates problems and determines violations; issues requests for compliance or court citations. Patrols county for code violations; enforces compliance by issuing requests for compliance or court citations. Prosecutes and provides expert testimony in local or state court for code violations.
