Job Summary
This position involves manual work with duties including but not limited to collecting trash, cleaning outdoor areas of campus, moving and delivering supplies and equipment. As needed, this position will also support other Event Services teams with setups, breakdowns, and other tasks as needed. This position¿s primary schedule is Saturdays and Sundays with some opportunities to work additional hours throughout the week and during school breaks.
Responsibilities
* Walks assigned areas of campus to collect and remove trash from common areas.
* Assists in special projects, such as setting up and moving furniture or equipment for special events on or off-campus.
* Uses power equipment to clean buildings.
* Collects recyclable materials from campus and off-campus buildings
* Reads work orders and follows instructions
* Assists in emergency preparations, such as clearing snow, ice, sidewalks, and driveways.
* Operates delivery trucks or other equipment to assist in loading or moving materials and products.
* Drives vehicles to pick up tables and chairs across campus or between campuses.
* Works in either campus moving and setup teams or grounds keeping teams.
* Completes other duties as assigned.
* Serves as a brand ambassador of University Operations and Columbus State University.
Required Qualifications
* Ability to regularly lift 50 lbs. and occasionally lift 50 - 100 lbs.
* Ability to perform heavy lifting and strenuous manual tasks.
* Ability to operate warehouse, delivery, and power equipment, such as hand trucks, pressure washers, etc.
* Ability to work outside in a variety of weather conditions.
* Hold a valid driver's license.
Proposed Salary
Salary is commensurate with experience and education.

* A credit check completed for Positions of Trust and or approved departmental Purchase Card usage;
* Pre-employment drug testing for positions with high-risk responsibilities.

Other Information
Position open to all students enrolled in at least six credit hours for the Fall 2025 semester. Students with a grade point average of 2.5 and above are preferred. Students who have received a Federal Work-Study Program (FWSP) award are encouraged to apply but receipt of an FWSP financial aid package is not required to qualify for this position.
