Federal Work Study Student Center Assistant (Off Campus)

Location: Girls, Inc.

Nature of Duties

Under supervision, the Center Assistant will assist with preparation and teaching of age appropriate programs and curricula.

Major Duties

• Assist in preparation and teaching of research-based, age appropriate programs and curricula, using Girls, Inc. programming as the cornerstone of instruction
• Design and implement mission-related activities and events
• Serve as a role model for girls, staff and volunteers, maintain high level of professionalism and attention to quality in all aspects of program delivery and work in general
• Operate in accordance with Girls Inc's policies and procedures
• Utilize predefined lesson plans, develop lesson plans and facilitate programs daily in accordance with lesson plans
• Stay current on issues related to girls and children
• Work cooperatively with staff and supervisors
• Participate in staff meetings and conferences to share ideas, concerns, working collaboratively with other staff to meet agency and program goals
• Assist with reading and math tutoring
• Uphold and enforce center rules and safety regulations
• Perform other duties as assigned
• Monitor the sign-in sheets for visitors
• Take temperature for all incoming visitors
• Provide customer services

Minimum Qualifications

• Be enrolled as a student at Columbus Technical College
• Completed a FAFSA and be identified as being eligible for federal aid
• Complete a Federal Work-Study Employment Application.

Salary/Benefits

$15.00 per hour; no benefits
